My first reaction? - how very sad,
second reaction - what on earth happened?
third reaction - WTF is going on behind these reports?
e.g. “The 32-year-old sisters - who are from a set of triplets…”
and from the pictures published, fairly clearly they are monozygotic* - the sort who have to wear different clothes all through childhood to avoid constant confusion as to which is which… and even that is unusual.
The (thumbnail-linked) report goes on to tell us,
”The women are both described as white and of slim build with long brown hair.”
(not very likely to be very different looking, at a guess, especially skin colour…)
Their brother - back in Budapest - tells us that they kept in touch with the family over the past decade, but had not informed the family there about cancelling the joint tenancy with their Aberdeen landlady, just before they went missing…
There are so many more details I would want to hear - but a search of online newspaper postings shows very little,
and in one instance an insanely narcissistic piece on “it could have been me”.
What about the third triplet? not even mentioned in the report…
*Monozygotic identical twins are rare but the rate of incidence of identical triplets is extremely rare.
There is a lot of identical twin study and first person anecdotal research that shows identical twins have a deep connection, sometimes described as psychic, and one can assume that triplets have the same connection…
Is the 3rd sister long dead and not to be talked about?
We are told in an earlier report that
“Their other sister, Edit, also said she had spoken to them on New Year's Eve and they appeared to be happy and cheerful.”
but she is not mentioned again since then and not specified as the third of the triplets…
Is the third triplet not of interest when the two sisters who lived together, moved to Aberdeen and were planning to buy a house together, are probably both dead in a freezing cold winter river?
Instead we hear only from the brother, photographed with the two of them…
Hence my leaning towards the idea that the other triplet did not survive, and Edit is another sibling, and not their zygotic match…
These two “appeared happy” and were apparently not deeply troubled, for example, by the possible long term loss of/disconnection from that third element of their one egg.
So why did they go after midnight walking over a bridge by a river on a cold, rain and snow shower prone, January night, having cancelled their tenancy with no clear evidence of any plan or place to arrive at? The police have emphasised this is a missing persons investigation, meaning that they do not suspect any third party involvement.
Today we are told that a body has been found and it is that of Henrietta - near the next bridge upstream from where they were last seen, (the river at this point is tidal so water can flow both ways).
A developing story but one where rarity and oddity seem to be the dominant features…
they were last seen on the Victoria bridge in the wee small hours of January 7th - and the river area “has been the focus of search” ever since, that is, for 3 weeks. The implication I take from that is that either the searchers were pretty damn bad at searching, or that body has been moving up and down the river, unseen, on the tidal ebbs and flows…
Let me know what you think if you are as intrigued by this as I am. Or if you happen to know that they are not two of identical triplets, etc… The mainstream media appear much less curious than with most cases of feared-drowned women… But please, I don’t want to see the sort of self appointed answer fanatics who jumped to conclusions, hurt the family, and ignored all the facts about Nicola Bulley.
